Slashdot – an online community for geeks worldwide – is suffering from a crisis. An ugliness crisis.

This is my answer to the recent onslaught of distasteful slashdot color schemes. Take this “favelet” (with apologies to Tantek Celik, of favelets.com, and drag it to your browser’s bookmark bar. Let it idle their…biding its time. But then! One day…when you have to read a story in games.slashdot.org, or suffer through it.slashdot.org, it will be there. Simply click it, and whatever slashdot page you’re viewing will reload in slashdot’s default color scheme.

It should handle most pages that Slashdot serves up, even the the pseudo-static ones like the following:

This should check to see if you’re viewing a page like that, and, if you are, it’ll replace that with a valid sid, and then move you on over to a less freaky ui.

Drag the favelet to your bookmarks bar, and defuglify!
